France: Fifth Aviva Open, the tennis event for the 35 and overs

16 March, 2010

For the fifth consecutive year, Aviva, a major player in life insurance and long-term savings, asset management and non-life insurance, is holding an event for tennis enthusiasts. The Aviva Open, created and organised by Sport Plus Conseil, is the only national tennis circuit in France open specifically to players over the age of 35.

The 40 qualifying rounds of the 2010 circuit began on 10 March in Carcassonne and will continue until September. The national grand final will then take place from 30 October to 3 November on the courts of Club Med de Pompadour in France's Limousin region.

Open to members of the French Tennis Federation, the Aviva Open counts towards players’ individual rankings. There will be various prizes for the winners of the regional tournaments and the finalists will win a break for two people in Venice or Vienna.

With more than 5,500 participants expected this year, the Aviva Open has established itself as a leading event in amateur tennis in France.
