Corporate responsibility in practice
Aviva touches many lives. So our corporate responsibility initiatives aim high and wide, engaging with our employees, customers and suppliers, investors, local communities and the wider environment.
In everything we do, we want to be fair, honest and transparent. Our policies and programmes set out clear guidance, ranging from our code of ethics for all our employees, training on specialist topics such as anti-money laundering and fraud, to making sure we protect our customers' personal information.
Supporting communities is an important part of our work. We focus on three areas - life trauma, education and financial literacy - where we can use our expertise and make a real difference. If you join Aviva, we'll give you opportunities to roll up your sleeves and get involved.
We have a group CR director whose job is to make CR relevant and engaging for our 54,000 employees, and help everyone we work with, both inside Aviva and in the wider business community, make a positive difference.
It's good to know that if you join Aviva, we'll be good for your career and good for your conscience too.
Here are some of the great things we've achieved in the last 12 months:
Environment

- 7% drop in electricity consumption
- 14% decrease in paper use
- We bought 65% of our electricity worldwide from renewable/zero emission sources
