Get started in athletics

Aviva Startrack events provide fun and exciting athletics opportunities for eight to 15 year olds throughout the year for all abilities. With the emphasis on fun, children can develop and hone their athletics skills within structured coaching programmes, learning the technical side of athletics events* such as triple jump, hurdling, and javelin.

Fifteen years after the programme was launched, more than 23,000 children now take part each year at over 600 venues across the UK, delivered by local authority organisers, athletics clubs, schools and other athletics development partners. To ensure all abilities can benefit from our Aviva Startrack events, there are inclusive schemes tailored to meet the needs of disabled young people.
