Developing physical literacy in schools

Aviva Elevating Athletics is a Curriculum resource pack available in every state Primary and Secondary School in the UK. Designed to assist teachers in the development of progression of children’s athleticism through the core skills of running and jumping.

Working in partnership with NASUWT — the National Association of Schoolmasters / Union of Women Teachers — and in conjunction with a nationwide teacher training programme run by UKA, we support teachers in exploring a variety of teaching styles and ultimately believe Aviva Elevating Athletics will raise the standards of teaching athletics.

Aviva Elevating Athletics has been created to motivate pupils in every activity by encouraging the inclusion of all pupils regardless of ability. It has been designed to shift the focus away from winning and losing, and towards the improvement of a pupil's personal performance, encouraging each pupil to set personal goals to improve his or her own performance.
