Find out about Aviva's efforts to get 15 million kids active by 2012

We're committed to protecting the health and wellbeing of the next generation and recognise that sport is about much more than just physical health. Participation in sporting activity helps children learn vital life skills such as teamwork, leadership, confidence, discipline and learning to win and lose.

It's also about dreams. As the team behind UKA, Aviva is making it easier for athletes of today and tomorrow to reach their sporting goals.

We are able to achieve this through a variety of grassroots initiatives and partnerships. Find out more about these below.

Aviva UKA Initiatives

In partnership with UKA, we support four grassroots programmes. Each provides a means for the sporting stars of the future to reach their full potential and to develop a healthy body and a healthy mind. These initiatives make it easier for every child in the UK to take the journey from playground to podium and ensures that talent is recognised at every level.

It's a long-term goal we share with UKA, but it's already beginning to bear fruit. Many of our top prospects have come through our programmes as children, such as Jess Ennis, Nathan Douglas, Martyn Rooney, Kelly Sotherton and Jade Johnson, all of whom now compete for the Aviva GB & NI team.

School Sport Matters

Aviva recognises the importance of sport at school and is committed to getting children of all ages active. That's why we, in partnership with the Daily Telegraph, have developed the School Sport Matters campaign to champion achievements within school sport throughout the UK.
