In the UK, Aviva uses sponsorship to help build the brand.

Aviva Athletics

At Aviva, we're proud to be the number one supporter of UK Athletics. Since we began sponsoring athletics in 1999, we've made it our mission to help the athletes of today and tomorrow achieve their dreams.

We support the Aviva Great Britain and Northern Ireland team, making it easier for the nation's best athletes to focus on performing their best at major events, both at home and abroad. Our sponsorship is not all about international glory for established athletes though.

From the playground to the podium

Sport is important to every child's development. It's not just about getting them active; it helps teach them about teamwork and leadership, motivating them to perform as best they can, whatever their ability.

And we are making this happen by giving every child in the UK the chance to get involved in athletics. Fun is definitely on the agenda, but our grassroots schemes are also creating a long-term legacy for the sport, unearthing and nurturing more champions along the way.

Aviva Premiership Rugby

Aviva Premiership Rugby

On 13 July 2010, Aviva became the title sponsor of English Rugby Union’s top flight league. The world leading rugby union competition will become Aviva Premiership Rugby from September 2010.

Rugby is the fastest-growing participation sport in England with more than 100,000 active adult players – and another 150,000 under the age of 19.*

The sponsorship deal runs until 31 July 2014 and will include more than 135 games each season, watched by 1.7 million people at the grounds and many more on Sky, ITV and ESPN.

It also allows us to extend its grassroots programme designed to encourage young people to get involved in sport. The 12 rugby clubs in Aviva Premiership Rugby will commit 15,000 man hours to work with 36,000 pupils at 600 primary schools in England, as well as providing them with equipment and teacher training.

Norwich City Football Club

In April 2008 Aviva announced it was to become the club sponsor of Norwich City Football Club from the start of the 2008/2009 season. The four year deal sees Aviva take shirt sponsorship with the club and also includes:

  • An exciting new educational initiative linking football with money management skills for young people
  • Renewed sponsorship of the Community Stand
  • Funding of the club's Ability Counts initiative
  • Continued involvement in Canaries for the Community

As part of our commitment to financial education, Aviva is also working with the club on a new initiative designed to improve financial and budgeting skills amongst young people, by combining education and sport.
