Our sponsorship programme is designed to help us become more active in our community and to support our business locally, by strengthening the goodwill of existing and potential customers.

Corporate citizenship

We aim to be a good corporate citizen, with a strong focus on charity and sponsorship activities. We mainly donate to healthcare and educational charities, with special emphasis on children and young people.

Our sponsorship agenda promotes a healthy way of life – we sponsor amateur sports, sporting activities for handicapped people, local community initiatives by non-governmental organisations, education and arts.

Ordinary, Extraordinary

Since 1994, our flagship sponsorship has been the TV programme Ordinary, Extraordinary, which gives examples of ordinary people's heroic behaviour in extreme situations. A Commercial Union Aviva representative is invited to each monthly programme to present prizes to extraordinarily brave, generous and big-hearted people.

In 2000, the programme received an award from the Public TV Council for ‘outstanding fulfillment of public television’s mission’. Independent research shows the programme is unique in Poland in terms of its character, content and quality, and that it’s a highly successful sponsorship for us.

Culture

Each year, we support several significant cultural events, like exhibitions, or musical and dramatic festivals.

Family cycling days

CU Aviva Poland has sponsored Family Cycling Days, a programme of cycling, recreational events and concerts, since 1999. This fits well with our aim to support initiatives that improve people's quality of life and promote a healthy lifestyle. We choose medium-sized towns for the events because they don’t have much opportunity to enjoy family sporting events.
