Sailing Challenge
Solo yachtswoman Dee Caffari and the Aviva Ocean Racing campaign
World record-breaking yachtswoman Dee Caffari
UPDATE: Dee Caffari, onboard her yacht Aviva, completed a double world first at 13:13 (GMT) on 16 February 2009 by crossing the official finish line of the round the world Vendée Globe yacht race.
Dee Caffari sailed into the history books on 18 May 2006 when she completed the Aviva Challenge and became the first woman to sail non-stop, around the world solo, against the prevailing winds and currents.
Not content with one extraordinary record, Dee now plans to become the first woman to sail solo, non-stop in both directions by competing in the gruelling, but highly prestigious round the world yacht race, the 2008 Vendée Globe.
Aviva is proud to continue its partnership with Dee Caffari. She is determined to push back the boundaries of her sport and inspires others to do the same in their own lives.
