After its incorporation as the Travellers' Baggage Insurance Association Ltd on June 20 1910, the company was renamed the Travellers' Insurance Association Ltd on January 17 1917 and was acquired by the Commercial Union Assurance Company Ltd in September 1928.

The company changed its name on 07 November 2008 to Undershaft (No. 11) Ltd and went into liquidation on 20 November 2008.

Did you know...?

  • During the 1960s, company manager Mr Johnson had a gold pass for the railways that afforded him free travel in the United Kingdom. He remembers that at smaller stations the staff would stop the train so his carriage was in the best position for the shortest walk and would even put down a red carpet for him to walk on.
