National Marine Insurance Association Ltd
The National Marine Insurance Association was established in 1882 as a marine insurer offering insurance in the United Kingdom and overseas. On January 1 1897, the company transferred its business to the Ocean Marine Insurance Company Ltd and went into liquidation the following May.

In 1908, Ocean Marine became a subsidiary of the North British and Mercantile Insurance Company Ltd, which itself became a subsidiary of the Commercial Union Assurance Company Ltd in 1959.
