Aviva Canada is the second-largest general insurer in Canada and the second-largest general insurance operation in the Aviva group. We have a 9% market share, more than three million customers and over 3,000 staff in 40 locations across the country.
We can trace our history back to 1906 when the General Accident Assurance Company of Canada was set up. They merged with the Canadian General Insurance Company in 1998, before changing their name to CGU Insurance Company of Canada. In October 1999, they merged with Commercial Union Assurance Company of Canada, and with GAN General Insurance Company in December 1999. In May 2003 we rebranded as Aviva Insurance Company of Canada.
We offer home, motor and business insurance, along with a healthcare claims service, speciality commercial products and construction surety bonding.
We’re proud to provide Canada’s first pay-as-you-drive motor insurance product, Autograph, along with the Claims Service Satisfaction Guarantee, another "first" in the Canadian insurance industry.

By air
Pearson International Airport – about 45 minutes outside central Toronto, and one hour to Aviva Canada Head Office by taxi.
By public transit
Unfortunately our offices are not easily reached using public transit.
By road
Take Highway 401 to Warden Avenue. Drive south on Warden to Eglinton Avenue. Turn left (east) on Eglinton and go to Birchmount. Aviva Head office is on the corner of Eglinton and Birchmount. Turn left on Birchmount and drive half a block north to entrance of the parking lot.
