We have two operating companies in Turkey. AvivaSA is Turkey’s largest pensions provider, with a 23% market share, and the third-largest life insurer, with an 11% market share. Aviva Sigorta is the country’s 12th-largest general insurer (household, motor etc) with a 2% market share.

Our bancassurance partner, Akbank TA¿, is Turkey's second-largest privately owned bank, with 5.9 million retail customers and 687 branches.

Both our businesses began as joint ventures between Commercial Union and the Finansbank group. In 2001, we took complete ownership of both operations, and rebranded as Aviva in 2004. Aviva Hayat Emeklilik merged with AK Emeklilik, a division of Aksigorta and parent company Sabanci Holding Group, in 2007 to create AvivaSA. Read more about our history.

We mainly sell unit-linked pension plans, but also offer a range of life, savings and protection policies, including motor, household, fire, marine, personal accident, travel and liability cover.
