Aviva NDB Insurance combines the global strength of Aviva, with the financial power of NDB, one of the largest financial conglomerates in Sri Lanka. We’re the third-largest with a 19.94% share of the life insurance market and the fifth-largest in the general insurance market with a 7.42% market share. Backed by Aviva’s global expertise, we pioneered bancassurance in Sri Lanka.

Since our inception in 1988 as Eagle Insurance, a subsidiary of Ceylon Tobacco Company, part of BAT industries, UK, the company has maintained a competitive edge, by changing ownership to face emerging challenges. Aviva acquired the majority shareholding in 2006 and the company transformed into Aviva NDB Insurance in 2010.

Our sales force, known as "Wealth Planners" are a new category of insurance sales professionals empowered to meet both life and general insurance needs of customers. They receive continuous training and upgrading of their skills at the Centre for Excellence and top performers are regularly sent for training abroad to gain exposure on sales and customer care techniques practiced around the world. 

We provide a wide portfolio of life insurance and general insurance products for individual and corporate customers. We have bancassurance partnerships with NDB Bank, Standard Chartered Bank and Sampath Bank.
