Aviva Hong Kong
We're 14th in the life insurance market, with bancassurance access to around one million customers through our partnership with the Development Bank of Singapore (DBS). We're also a leader in the growing independent financial adviser sector, which accounts for over 50% of our total new business sales.
Aviva’s links with Hong Kong date back to 1856, when Norwich Union appointed Borneo Co Ltd as its agent. In 1863 Commercial Union appointed Messrs Gibb Livingston and Co as agent for Hong Kong and Shanghai, before opening a branch in 1899. General Accident set up their Hong Kong business in 1906, and in 1989 bought New Zealand Insurance, which had been represented in Hong Kong since 1882.
The merger of General Accident and Commercial Union in 1998, followed by the merger with Norwich Union in 2000, created the group known today as Aviva.
We offer a range of life insurance and long-term savings products.
